First and foremost, the SEE team would like to address that our thoughts are with our partners in Haiti; we are hoping for the best as they experience and recover from the recent hardships that have anguished their country.
SEE is touched by the gratitude of Dr. Emmanuel Samedy, an ophthalmology resident at Hôpital d l’Universite d’Etat d’Haiti (HUEH) in Haiti, who took the time to produce this video to thank SEE for our support of the residents in training at HUEH.
With SEE’s help, HUEH is steadily building a more sustainable eyecare system in Haiti by training and educating ophthalmic personnel so they can provide care to Haitian communities for years to come. In support of these individuals, SEE has provided funding and updated equipment that is necessary to excel in ophthalmic training. As demonstrated by Dr. Samedy in this thoughtful video, improvements of the facilities at HUEH have allowed residents to practice with high-quality equipment. Through this, residents not only improve their skills, but are then able to care for their patients more efficiently.
SEE is privileged to partner with such a focused and driven group of individuals for this inspiring initiative! We encourage you to watch Dr. Samedy’s video to learn more about the positive impacts SEE is making at HUEH with the help of our donors and supporters!
