One of the most tangible and life-changing aspects of the Santa Barbara Vision Care Program is the free eyeglasses provided by the Santa Barbara Eyeglass Factory. For the past 13 years, they have generously supported SBVCP.

After a patient is screened by a SBVCP ophthalmologist/optometrist, oftentimes eyeglasses are needed. Patients are provided a prescription and voucher for free eyeglasses which they can take to a Santa Barbara Eyeglass Factory store. They are helped by SB Eyeglass Factory staff to find suitable frames, the prescription lenses are made, the patient is fitted for the glasses, and any follow-up adjustments made – all free of charge.

The Santa Barbara Vision Care program, in its entirety, would not be possible without the support of the Santa Barbara Eyeglass Factory owned by Mr Rick Feldman. Over the years, it is estimated that the SB Eyeglass Factory has donated more than $1 million worth of custom-made prescription eyeglasses to the community.

In 2008, the SBVCP won the Nonprofit/Business Partnership award for the collaborative efforts between SEE International and the Santa Barbara Eyeglass Factory.
